I cannot seem to get ati-drivers to install. This ebuild is from an overlay: '/usr/local/portage' emerge --info: Code: Gentoo Base System version 1.12.1 Portage 2.1.1_pre3-r5 (default-linux/x86/2006.0, gcc-4.1.0/vanilla, glibc-2.4-r3, 2.6.17-rc1-no2 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.17-rc1-no2 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor As far as the booting goes, my Radeon 9800 just blew I think. I recompiled gcc, just for grins.

At least I believe I'm not lol I had to search to just get this far. All rights reserved. As posted the problems I get are related to: - a complain on ABI module version - ignoring ABI warnings when starting X would make the driver complain about the version ERROR: x11-drivers/ati-drivers-8.27.10 failed.

  • I guess this is because of my xorg version.
  • Seems like a lot of work for a binary?
  • I just changed the download urls and deleted the line that blocks x11-xorg, nothing else was changed._________________AMD FX 8350 8-core CPU 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM ASUS M5A97 Motherboard 1TB (Gentoo)

Mixing different archs is not good thing. These drivers also address the black screen hanging issue when xorg is shutdown or restarted. The ATI AVIVO Video adaptor is not present. One of the finer details about the packaging scripts for Fedora Core 5 and other distributions is that they are largely community written.
